INSPECTION ANALYZER TRANSACTION PROCESSING WITH REAL-TIME DATA TRANSMISSION

The interface layer is built using Microsoft Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for distributed applications and is responsible for dynamically generating data sets that are directly accessed by the inspection analyzer application over TCP/IP. The application layer includes multiple objects, each of which represents a business object. The data access layer is composed of components used for retrieving and storing data from databases. All database interactions from the application flow through these data-access components. The application system contains an extensive logging function (transaction log, error log, security log, etc.) for use in system audits, security support, anomaly investigation, and more.

Inspection analyzers with proper credentials can directly access the objects without utilizing any client-side communication application. The objects manage authentication as well as incremental and full synchronization between the analyzer and the VID, based on request and/or refresh information.

Data transfer functions include vehicle and previous test data (using data from Polk VINA lookup/VIN decode and previous inspection data), lockout data, inspector data, calibration data, station data, audit data, network-wide configuration parameters (such as inspection pass/fail standards), and other data.
