SysTech International provided the Host Computer System (HCS) that houses the Vehicle Inspection Database (VID) system for the State of Rhode Island program. The HCS is utilized for conducting emissions testing, program reporting, and centralized management of the entire I/M testing network. In addition, SysTech International provided technical management services to the Rhode Island program manager, including workstation development, workstation system acceptance testing, determining program cut points, and managing other various technical details. The Rhode Island I/M Program was implemented in January 2000 and consists of more than 250 test facilities performing over 650,000 vehicle safety and emission tests each year.
The system utilizes a Microsoft Windows platform operating on Dell servers, with a Microsoft SQL Server database system.
