Dedication to excellence led SysTech to the recent invention of the VMAS™ vehicle mass emissions measurement system. VMAS™ is a breakthrough in vehicle emissions testing that enables a low-cost means of determining the mass of vehicle emissions in any I/M setting. The VMAS™ product utilizes a revolutionary technique for measuring exhaust volume. This technique coupled with current BAR97 analyzers provides for a highly accurate and repeatable-result mass measurement system. Results from independent testing show that VMAS™ displayed excellent correlation with the costly IM240 system.
The New York NYTEST I/M Program was implemented in October 1998 and consists of more than 4,600 test facilities performing over 5.5 million vehicle emissions tests per year. SysTech International's efforts - particularly on the instrumentation side - were instrumental in making the NYTEST I/M program a success. Today, the EPA is granting much higher credits for the NYTEST program as compared to ASM:
95% of I/M 240 credit for hydrocarbon emissions
99% of I/M 240 credit for carbon monoxide emissions
99% of I/M 240 credit for nitrogen oxide emissions.
