NASHVILLE, Tenn. – SysTech International, operator of the Metro Nashville emission testing program, tested a fleet of trucks at a Nashville factory on Wednesday as part of its expansion of emission testing services.
SysTech used one of its five emission testing vans at the Sara Lee Bakery Group plant, located at Powell Place near 100 Oaks Mall. The vans are equipped to provide an official emission test for all vehicles required to be tested by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
Each vehicle tested by the mobile unit is one less vehicle that must be tested at one of the six stations around the city, lessening the wait times for vehicle inspections, according to SysTech officials.
“SysTech has brought Mobile Emission Test Services to Nashville and Davidson County as a supplement to the current program,” Fred Huggins, director of vehicle inspections for the Metro Public Health Department, said. “Through this new mobile service, we are expanding the options that Metro Nashville businesses and residents have in meeting their vehicle inspection requirements.”
Companies that operate and own multiple vehicles have the opportunity to meet this requirement easily by employing SysTech’s mobile emission testing services. SysTech works with these businesses to bring testing to their location, with the ability to accommodate both smaller and larger fleets.
One of Sara Lee’s 34 trucks passes inspection in their Nashville warehouse during SysTech International’s mobile emission testing.
Working with Sara Lee was termed a perfect fit for SysTech. “The company has a fleet of 34 trucks, and our mobile testing service allows them to reduce the time and energy the company would have spent bringing the trucks out individually to a station,” Ellen Tober, program manager for SysTech, said. “We’re glad that we have the capability to bring emission testing to the company, and help businesses with multiple vehicles like Sara Lee.”
Sara Lee was equally thrilled to benefit from SysTech’s mobile testing service. “SysTech ensured that the setup was quick and efficient, and that the operation went smoothly,” Harold Walker, Sara Lee fleet manager, said. “I am very pleased and look forward to doing business with SysTech in the future.”
Businesses interested in arranging on-site testing should call Tober at (615) 399-5292.
